Simple Chicken Curry


 Honestly cooking a chicken curry can’t get any simpler. 

    1 chicken, cut into small pieces and washed
    3 onions, chopped
    Paste of(2" ginger, 8-10 garlic cloves, 2 tomatoes)
    1 tsp turmeric pd
    2 tsp chilli pd(adjust accordingly)
    1 tsp pepper 
    Salt
    3 tbsp mustard oil
    whole spices(2 cloves, 2" cinnamon piece, 3 cardamoms, 2 bay leaves)
    3-4 potatoes halved and lightly fried for 5-6 mins in a pan
    2 tsp garam masala pd
    3 green chillies
    1/4 cup chopped cilantro or coriander leaves


Marinate the chicken with the onions, ginger-garlic-tomato paste, turmeric, pepper pd, chilli pd and salt for about an hour. Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan, next add the whole spices. Now add the chicken along with the marinade. Fry this well for 15 mins. Next add the potatoes and 2 cups of water.  Add the remaining ingredients , cover and cook on a medium to low flame for about half hour or until the chicken and potatoes are done.  Serve with rice or rotis.
