Chaklis

 


These little snacks are gluten free and are a perfect afternoon pickup with a cup of tea.

1 cup rice flour

1/4 cup roasted fried gram flour or Sattu flour

1 tbsp butter

1/2 tsp asafoetida 

1 tsp sesame seeds 

1 tsp cumin seeds 

1/2 tsp chili pd 

Salt

Oil to deep fry

Lightly roast each of the flours individually for 3-4 mins, keep aside till cool.  Mix in all the ingredients except the oil. Now add water to make a soft dough. Fill in a chakli /Murukku maker using a star nozzle. Make the spiral chakli shape on a small plate. Once the oil is hot, carefully slide into the oil and fry till golden brown on a medium  flame. You can store in an airtight container for until 2 weeks.
