Quick Sprouted Mung curry


I was craving this sprouted Goan curry, Mungachi gathi, which requires
roasting and grinding  masalas. Well, since I was too lazy to take all that
trouble, this a quick cheats way to that delicious curry.

1 cup sprouted mung beans
1-2 green chilies, chopped
1/2 cup grated coconut
1 tsp coriander pd
1/2 tsp turmeric pd
1/2 tsp chili pd
1/2 tsp pepper pd
1/2 tsp jaggery
Salt to taste
1-2 tbsp tamarind water
1 tsp ghee
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
A pinch of asafoetida

Heat ghee, splutter the mustard seeds and add a pinch of asafoetida.
Next all the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on a low flame till the mung beans are soft. Serve with rice or chapatis
