Okra with sesame and peanuts

 


This recipe was inspired by Andhra cuisine, which is one of my favorites.  It’s got the goodness of sesame seeds and peanuts. Giving it a nutty flavor.

2 cups chopped okra(bhindi)

Salt

2 tbsp oil

Powder or make into a paste, the following ingredients:

2-3 red chilies 

2 tbsp sesame seeds 

2 tbsp peanuts 

1/2 tsp cumin seeds 

2-3 cloves of garlic 

A few curry leaves 


Heat oil, add the okra and salt. Cover and cook on a medium flame for 6-7 mins. Now add the paste, mix well. Cook covered for 10-15 minutes until the okra is well cooked.
