Sautéed Spinach with paneer and potatoes



Palak paneer is such a tedious recipe, how many times have I tried blending blanched spinch and spluttered it all over the kitchen! Well this is an easy vesion with potatoes,  as my kids like potatoes and there is no blending involved!

2 tbsp mustard oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2 cloves
1 cardamom
1/4" cinnamon
1 onion, minced
1 tsp ginger, minced
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 tomato, chopped
1/2 tsp turmeric pd
1/2 tsp chili pd
1 tsp coriander seed pd
1 potato, cubed
1 cup cubed paneer
1 cup chopped spinach
salt to taste

Heat oil, add cumin seeds and the whole spices. Next add onion, ginger and garlic. Fry well for 6-7 mins  or until till golden . Next add the potatoes, tomatoes , turmeric, chili pd, salt, coriander pd. Cover and cook for 5 mins. Add the remaining ingredients, cover and cook on a medium to low flame for 10 mins till the potatoes are cooked and liquid from spinach has dried up. Serve with chapatis,
