Cauliflower with stalks, stir fried



 

Cauliflower stalks add a crunchy addition to an otherwise simple cauliflower and potato stir fry. The stalks are sliced thin and added to mixed vegetable dishes or even curries. 


1 cup cauliflower florets 

Tender Stalks and leaves of 1 cauliflower, sliced ( the thick tough parts can be omitted)

1 potato cut lengthwise 

2 tbsp mustard oil

1/2 tsp nigella seeds or kalonji 

2-3 green chilies sliced 

1 tsp turmeric pd 

Salt

Chopped cilantro 


Heat oil in a pan, add the nigella seeds. Next add all the vegetables, salt, turmeric pd. Cover and cook till almost done on a medium flame. Next add the remaining ingredients, increase the flame and stir fry till lightly golden. Serve with some rice and daal.
